The population of the globe is aging… and aging rapidly (this is GREAT news for businesses like Nu Skin). It is predicted that over 1/4 of the U.S. population will be nearing retirement age by 2012. Furthermore, with society's constant insistence on the necessity of finding the "fountain of youth," it is logical that a variety of advertisements for anti-aging products are seen in every possible place. The anti-aging industry is a multi-billion dollar a year industry.

Nu Skin is a network marketing business where there are experts on anti-aging nutritional and skin-care products. The company is striving to become the "world’s leading anti-aging company by addressing the sources of aging, not just the signs and symptoms." They may just succeed too, given the Company’s proven financial record, cutting-edge products and continuing research and development. Nu Skin’s scientists have stated that they have pinpointed the actual cause of aging. These scientists have discovered a group of genes called Youth Gene Clusters, or YGCs, that cause aging and the researchers profess they can replenish these gene clusters back to a younger appearance.

Now consider the fact that 80.6 million people have reached their 55th birthday. (And that only applies to the United States!) In addition, per the United Nation’s Population Division, the growth rate of the world’s population over the age of 60 is already far higher than that of the total population growth rate, however, by as soon as 2025 the growth rate of those over 60 will be 3.5 times that of the rate of total population growth. Or, in other words, the worldwide population of people 60 and older is expected to more than double, surpassing the 1 billion mark by 2030, and reaching almost 2 billion by 2050. Are you getting the picture? Nu Skin is now sitting on an almost guaranteed gold mine. People will pay for youth (and pay dearly). The average skin care treatment (for anti-aging therapy) is $100 at a spa. Usually people have more than one treatment. There is a great deal of money to be made in this industry. The combination of extremely wealthy baby boomers with the constantly growing societal push to keep looking as young as possible equals a great deal of money.

Even though Nu Skin has been around for over two decades and has over 820,000 distributors world-wide, they have positioned themselves quite well (with new research and products) to be around for years to come. It is even said that, with the launch of Nu Skin’s ageLOC products in the last part of 2010, Nu Skin distributors are coming out of retirement to market these new products and get a piece of the pie.

As always with any network marketing company you have to put the effort in to get results back. Position yourself to be successful by offering a quality product made by a quality firm. If you truly want to be independent financially, you should not get involved in the historical model of inviting relatives and acquaintances to be part of your company. You want people to come into your business that actually WANT a business. Lastly, search out a mentor who has already attained success and will impart his knowledge to you and help you construct your personal Nu Skin universe.
